If, like us, you’re a bit of a chocoholic, then this article is for you! Switzerland is famous, among other things, for its chocolate – you’ll find it everywhere – but we’ve decided to share our favourite spots in Geneva with you.
• Läderach, next door to b-sharpe's former Geneva offices, is a firm favourite with the whole team.
• Multi-award-winning Frédéric Ducret and the family-run Manuel chocolaterie (6 generations) are among Geneva's must-visit addresses.
• Auer, a local institution known for its "pavés de Genève", and Favarger, which offers guided tours of its factory, round out this sweet selection.

You might not know this, but our offices were right in the heart of Geneva, in the Galerie Jean-Malbuisson. That gallery is also home to a boutique run by the Swiss chocolatier Läderach. To be honest with you, everyone at b-sharpe has given in to temptation more than once walking past their window display. It was rare indeed not to spot Läderach chocolate somewhere in our open-plan office!

Geneva’s finest chocolatiers
Marie, who (partly) owns up to her great passion for chocolate, has agreed to share her favourite Geneva chocolatiers with you! Here’s the list:
A multi-award-winning confectioner and chocolatier, his shops can be found at Les Halles de Rive and La Servette. Every visit is a fresh discovery: Ducret Confectionery shares its passion through seasonal collections and limited editions. You can even order bespoke creations for your events, trade fairs or birthdays!
You’ll find this family-run chocolate shop in Balexert. A family business going strong for six generations, it keeps the chocolate-making tradition alive. Their chocolates, handcrafted with care, reflect both delicacy and quality.
Another shop just a stone’s throw from the b-sharpe offices! Auer is a Geneva institution and the only place making the famous “pavés de Genève”. If you’ve never had the chance to try these chocolates, Marie recommends you go and taste them. Plenty of locals recommend stopping by.
For a truly unique experience, this is the address for you: Philippe Pascoët is a Swiss master chocolatier who creates one-of-a-kind treats. His creations, especially the flavoured chocolates, are well worth the detour – a delight for the eyes as much as the taste buds!
Guided tour at Favarger
If tasting chocolate isn’t enough for you, Favarger, the renowned Geneva chocolatier, offers guided tours of its factory. It’s located in Versoix, less than a 20-minute drive from central Geneva. Favarger’s artisan chocolatiers will immerse you in their world – from roasting through to the finishing of the chocolate, you’ll discover all the secrets of the factory.

The chocolate event not to be missed in Geneva: the Chocolate Rally
Every year since 2015, Geneva has hosted the Rallye du Chocolat, a walk through the city to meet artisan chocolatiers. The aim is to discover the different chocolatiers while strolling around town; a competition runs throughout the route, letting you vote for your favourite chocolatier.
This year, given the health situation, a slightly different edition was put together: the e-Rallye du Chocolat. You could still wander the city and go from chocolate shop to chocolate shop, but you also had the option of taking part from home, via your mobile or computer.
Whether you’re a serious enthusiast or simply have an irresistible craving for chocolate, Geneva – indeed the whole of Switzerland – is the perfect place for you.
