Noël au Quai, the big Christmas market by the lake
It is Geneva’s largest Christmas market. After starting out in the Parc des Bastions, then holding several editions in the Jardin Anglais under the name Noël au Jardin, it has moved to the Quai du Mont-Blanc, on the shores of Lake Geneva, under the name Noël au Quai.
On the programme: chalets of local craftspeople, with exhibitors changing every week, food and street food stalls, a vintage carousel and a space dedicated to children, with creative workshops, games and storytelling. Big new feature for 2026: an ice rink, open for the whole duration of the market, with introductory sessions on the ice. Not forgetting the Chalet à Fondue, serving Geneva-style fondue (booking strongly recommended, especially in the evening), and the Christmas Pub to round off the evening.

The Lancy Christmas market, a friendly get-together
Held on Place de Pont-Rouge, the Lancy Christmas market is the municipality’s winter event, combining crafts, food and a festive atmosphere. A good option for an after-work outing or a family weekend visit.

If you are looking for an original, handmade gift, this is THE place! The Old Town of Carouge, a municipality next to Geneva, is charming all year round: imagine it lined with stalls, fairy lights and the smell of gingerbread. More than 150 exhibitors join the shops and craft workshops of the Old Town: jewellery, decorations, clothing, art objects…

The Fusterie Christmas market, right in the city centre
A simple, effective market! On Place de la Fusterie, a stone’s throw from the city-centre shopping streets, craftspeople help you complete your Christmas shopping.

The Aire-la-Ville Christmas market, indoors and full of treats
Unusual because it is indoors, but well worth a visit! This municipal market brings together craft stalls and gourmet products in a village atmosphere.

The children’s Christmas market, in the Parc des Bastions
A market like no other: since 2007, it has been organised by and for children. Under a large heated tent in the Parc des Bastions, primary school pupils sell or swap books, games and toys they no longer use. A great way to teach young people about giving objects a second life, in a festive atmosphere with free activities.
- Date: Wednesday 9 December 2026, 14:00 to 17:00, according to a specialised event calendar (municipal confirmation pending). In 2025, it took place on 10 December

The Plainpalais Christmas tree market
To find the perfect tree, head to the Rond-point de Plainpalais: every year, about three weeks before Christmas, tree growers set up on two sites, on the Avenue Henri-Dunant side and in front of the café Le Pain Quotidien.
